A new way of Government
They are telling us that it was our choice to have a coalition although I’m not sure how they can call that one. It seems to me that there was no party with the ideas or imagination to convince us.
With that in mind I have to say that I personally am quite pleased with the way that David and Nick are talking and just hope that neither of their parties start to play politics.
It has to be good for most of us that they are starting by cutting down on Whitehall costs. Unfortunately it will no doubt mean hardship for those who are part of the savings.
A London Plumbers View
As plumbers in London we know that we can only sell our plumbing service if we give good value and I am afraid that in some civil service departments this has been forgotten.
Promote Business Growth
We need to know how the Government will tackle the deficit whilst ensuring that businesses can grow to further strengthen the recovery. Please don’t place further taxation burdens on us at a time when business recovery is fragile. We need to see measures that will promote business growth and encourage employment.
An underlying issue with the banks
You must sort out the underlying issues between the banks and small and medium sized businesses so that we can get access to finance. There is lots we can do to grow, be more cost effective and more efficient but the Government must put pressure on the banks to lend to smaller firms so that they can get on with the job in hand.
The bankers didn’t lose all the money by lending to true British businesses they lost it by being greedy with very doubtful deals around the world and we bailed them out with our money.
Please put in regulation to keep our money here to enable us, the small and medium sized businesses, to lead the country out of the mess the banks created for all of us.
