‘Combi’is the shortened version of “combination” and a Combi boiler or just a Combi  has become the most popular form of boiler in the United Kingdom.

Combi boiler – highly efficient

These boilers now account for more than 50% of new condensing boiler sales. A combi boiler is a highly efficient way of combining a water heater and central heating boiler in a single unit.

Unlike a conventional boiler which usually requires a copper cylinder in an airing cupboard to store the hot water, in a combi boiler the water is heated on demand from within the unit itself, so it is a practical solution if space is at a premium.

Combi boilers compact

Combi boilers are typically compact so they can be hung conveniently on a kitchen wall and their installation is less disruptive and less expensive than that of conventional boilers.

As there is no storage cylinder significant savings on water heating can be made. The rate at which hot water is produced may be slightly slower than with a conventional boiler, but hot water is delivered through your taps or shower at mains pressure. You can enjoy a high pressure shower without the need for a power shower pump.

The most popular is a condensing combi gas boiler as it adds extra efficiency to the – already significant benefits of a standard combi boiler.

These condensing combi boilers can be installed in exactly the same way as a standard combi so can easily be a direct replacement for an existing boiler.
